Jetstar Asia commissioned illustrator Ben Qwek who created his interpretation of popular Red Centre and Top End destinations such as Uluru-Kata Tjuta and Kakadu National Parks, as well as attractions and animals including the Ghan, Uluru, camels, kangaroos, emus, crocodiles, and termite mounds. The artwork is complemented by specially designed decals and tray tables within the aircraft.

As part of its 10-year Darwin Singapore Link celebration, Jetstar unveils a specially designed Northern Territory-themed livery by Singaporean illustrator Ben Qwek on an Airbus A320 aircraft today.

The Northern Territory is an incredible place to visit according to Jetstar CEO Bara Pasupathi. He is excited about supportingTourism NT’s vision of ‘turbocharging tourism’ to this holiday hotspot. Some of Australia’s most awe-inspiring landscapes such as Kakadu, Litchfield National Park, and Katherine Gorge can be experienced from Darwin— a city which is less than a five-hour flight from Singapore.

“Darwin is Australia’s closest city to Asia, so this new livery has the unique ability to showcase the North Territory to a brand new audience,” says Minister of Tourism, Sport, and Culture Lauren Moss.

In a special event held earlier hosted by Darwin International Airport with Tourism North Territory, Jetstar Asia launched the livery to Australia. The low cost carrier also announced their increase of five flights a week to Darwin from four, as well as their sponsorship of the Arafura Games as key airline partner. Jetstar also welcomed games mascot,
Milula.

“Athletes from more than 40 nations will take part in the Games, including Singapore, Indonesia, China, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam,” says Minister for the Arafura Games Natasha Fyles. “These countries represent some of our closest neighbours and links made through the Arafura Games have the potential to grow the NT economy.”
Launched in 2008, Jetstar has flown more than 1.2 million passengers between Singapore and Darwin.
