Located at the center of Hong Kong’s busiest district, Marco Polo Hong Kong Hotel promises a sanctuary that offers a quiet time away from the city’s hustle and bustle, but also access to almost everything in the city.

THE WELCOME Accessibility was the first word that came into my mind when we arrived at Marco Polo Hong Kong Hotel. From Kowloon Station, a free shuttle service was readily available for us. Although it stops only at Marco Polo Gateway, it was still just as convenient since we only had to take a very short walk to the hotel. It was full of people when we reached the lobby, but check-in was hassle-free, and the accommodating concierge made it easy for us to feel at home quickly.
THE SCENE Overlooking the famous Victoria Harbour, Marco Polo Hong Kong Hotel is located along CantonRoad in Tsim Sha Tsui, arguably the city’s busiest commercial and business area. It is also part of Harbour City—Hong Kong’s largest shopping complex. In addition, the hotel is also a stone’s throw away from the Star Ferry and Hong Kong’s cruise terminal. Aside from its free shuttle service from Kowloon station, the hotel is accessible as well via bus, MTR, and its limousine service. For tourists, it is also near major tourist attractions like the Hong Kong Museum of Art, the Hong Kong Space Museum, and the Hong Kong Cultural Centre.
THE ROOM I was booked in a Deluxe Room overlooking the picturesque Victoria Harbour and the beautiful Hong Kong skyline. I couldn’t get enough of the view that it took me minutes before I took my eyes off it and focused on the other in-room amenities. The room—one of the hotel’s 665 rooms and suites—has a complimentary handy smartphone with Wi-Fi connectivity and Dual line, an extensive selection of TV channels, an in-room safe, a mini bar and a refrigerator, and a coffee machine and tea-making facilities. It was complete with everything I would need for the entire trip, and more.
THE LOUNGE Perhaps the only place in the hotel that I stayed a lot at aside from my room was the Continental Club Lounge. This is perfect for guests preferring exclusive comfort and personalized service. The lounge has a dining service complete from breakfast down to dinner—including snacks, wines, coffee, and tea. I loved it because aside from its cozy atmosphere that gave me the quiet time I needed, it has a friendly staff that provided non-stop service until its closing time at 11 PM.
THE SERVICE I fell in love with the service of Marco Polo Hong Kong Hotel, as its staff was nothing but accommodating and friendly. Whether my concerns were about printing of documents for work, touring the city, or more tea, they all provided me results that are exemplary, and there was no time that I felt short of pampered.
AT CHECK OUT The hotel let us have a late check-out at 2 PM, and even kept our baggage when we left for our last shopping and touring spree before our evening flight back to Manila. Like with check-in, we didn’t have any problem when we checked out—instead we left feeling relaxed.
THE VERDICT Marco Polo Hong Kong Hotel is perfect for everyone—families, tourists, and business travelers. The convenience and accessibility it provides make it easy to get through the bustling city, and its world-class warm Asian hospitality is truly something that you have to experience when you’re in Hong Kong.
